Welcome to Wildwood Rabbits and S.A. RABBIT RESCUE
AND ADOPTIONS, I would like to introduce myself I am Sally Arnold and I have
kept and bred rabbits since I was a child. In the early
years of my childhood, I had many animals and have shown Samoyed dogs, Horses,
Cats, Rabbits, Birds, Reptiles and cared for native wildlife. My Father and
I cared for injured wildlife for many years and in my early teens I trained
as a Vet Nurse in North East Victoria and as a Lab assistant and Technician
for Vet Labs in Victoria. I have worked at many Veterinary surgeries over the
years and have gained a lot of experience in animal first aid, treatment and
critical injury care.
I have applied this knowledge to the care of rabbits and researched their histology,
health conditions, anatomy and physiology and thus started S.A. RABBIT RESCUE
AND ADOPTIONS, as there is little care for rabbits in the human world and very
few rabbit savvy Veterinary practices who can offer correct advice to the rabbit
lover. Later I will endeavour to add a rabbit Vet list to the web site to assist
rabbit owners in their animals care but until then you are welcome to contact
me for contact details of rabbit friendly vets. I would like to thank David
who financially supports S.A. RABBIT RESCUE AND ADOPTIONS, he is the most generous
and kind animal loving man I know, if not he would have tossed the buns and
me out years ago.
The AWL and the RSPCA S.A. are both wonderful organisations
but are stretched to the limit with the overwhelming prob
lem
of unwanted cats and dogs and I saw the need to offer poor unwanted rabbits
a chance at life and of the possibility of finding a new home.
I f you ever see us out fund raising for either organisation give generously
please ever dollar helps care.
The other interest that I have involves Wildwood Rabbit Stud and in breeding the more rare and endangered types of DOMESTIC pet rabbits, so as not to loose these unique rabbit breeds. I no longer show rabbits in competition unless its for Agility and Show Bunny Jumping as I feel that leaving rabbits to be man handled and picked at by strangers is not my bunnies cup of tea. I feel that they enjoy the interaction and activity of having fun jumping and far more interesting for the public spectator.
