HISTORY: Harlequins are said the be natives of France and first appeared in 1887. It is believed that they were developed from the tri-colour dutch rabbit and the Brabancon breeds. Halrequins are available in the varieties of Japanese and Magpie. The Japanese being black and orange, and the Magpie being black and white, with variations of colour in each type. The fur coat is beautifuly fine and soft with an open texture. The markings on the rabbits should be as opposites in well marked specimens. The ideal markings of the Japanese Harlequin wers approved as the American Show Standard in 1917 and earlier in the United Kingdom. Harlequin have a beautiful nature and are lovely pets.
AVERAGE WEIGHT: 2.72kg - 3.62kg
COLOURS: Part dense black, part golden orange, the brighter the better.
