Breeds - Standard Rex

Wildwood Nira (Ermine, Doe), Wildwood Lamia (Seal, Doe)
HISTORY: Rexes originated in France from mutations of common rabbits by peasants in and noticed in 1919. Mr Kohler and Mr Wiltzer have the honor of being the developers of the breed. The first specimens were not very well developed with many health problems including does being sterile. The two gentlemen mentioned above rescued these first specimens and developed these using improved breeding techniques. The rex as we know it today was shown firstly in 1924 by Mr Kohler and Mr Litard. They were further dveleoped up to 1952 where we see the improvement and devleopment of many other colours other than the castor original rexes.
